Description This 16×2 character LCD module only uses 2 wire I2C interface. The I2C Interface Board is basically an IO expander board that helps minimize microcontroller / Arduino IO usage pin count. With this module, attached to the back of 16×2 character LCD Module, you can use only two pins (SDA and SCL) to write to LCD module. The typical operating voltage for these display modules is 5.0V. (The i2c backpack module can also be purchased separately. Please following this link) Technical Specifications Gross Weight (kg): 0.0400 Connection: Pin Header Display Format: 16×2 Character Outline Dimension: 80.0(W)x36.0(H)x11.5(T)mm Visual Area: 64.50×14.50mm Active Area: 55.45×10.85mm Character Size: 2.95×5.15mm Dot (Pixel) Size: 0.55×0.50mm Dot Pitch: 0.60×0.55mm IC Package: COB IC or Equivalent: AIP31066 , HD44780, KS0066 , SPLC780 , ST7066 Interface 6800 4-bit Parallel , 6800 8-bit Parallel Display Type: STN-LCD Blue Viewing Direction: 6:00 Appearance: White on Blue Backlight Color: White Color Backlight Current (Typ) 15mA Power Supply(Typ) 5V Supply Current for LCM (Max) 1500uA Operating Temp -20℃~70℃ Storage Temperature -30℃~80℃ Pinouts VCC ( 5.0V) SCL SDA GND Advantages Only 2 pins are needed to interface with Microcontroller. I2C interface can go upto 400Kbps datarate. The display update rate is very fast (20 micro seconds for single character) With use of I2C interface and Configureable addresses upto 8 LCD modules can be connected on single I2C interface. I2C Backpack module also allows Back light on/off control over i2c interface Related Documents Datasheet of 1602 LCD Module Datasheet of I2C Module Arduino Example Arduino Library Notes Use following Arduino C statement to initialize LCD: LiquidCrystal_I2C lcd(0x27,2,1,0,4,5,6,7,3,POSITIVE); Package Includes 1x White on Blue 16×2 LCD Module with I2C Backpack Module Already Soldered to LCD module
